How did I get here?
I fell in love with art when I discovered what art was. I remember drawing every chance I got. Can I draw now? Not really. The first time I picked up a crochet needle and created something I was hooked. I fell in love with the perfection of the stitches that intertwined with one another. I went through so many phases to discover my niche. I even went as far as applying for a photography college in California as time went on I realized that art can be anything. There is art with every creation by man. Everything I started to do I stopped myself, believing that I can’t profit from my art, because I can’t sit there and draw or paint a master piece. Who is to say crocheting a blanket isn’t a master piece? Designing a website? Coding a program? Or even creating a greeting card?.
With a different perspective, and some research I dove in and started doing everything that made me happy. I crocheted a blanket for the baby on the way (not mine). I started designing greeting cards and invitations on the computer. One day I decided to quit my day job as a CNA. That same day I opened up my online etsy store. My store was starting to take off when we decided to move here to Texas. I then decided “Hey why not go back to school?.” That has been something i been contemplating for over a year. What should I go to school for? That’s when I realized the answer was in front of my face the whole time. GAMING!. I LOVE gaming. I also love the complexity of codes. And because this is a male-dominated industry, more so my interest has peaked.
So here I am today created a blog, designed my own webpage (sadly not from scratch), a freshman in college enrolled to obtain a bachelors degree in Game Programming and development and a proud owner of my own online store. I must thank my awesome hubby for being so supportive through all this. I cannot express how truly happy I am.
